Saturdays OOTD

I've had a rather busy weekend, so I apologise for the late post. This is an Outfit Of The Day (OOTD) for Saturday evening.

I went with my parents to their friends 25th Wedding Anniversary & wanted to dress up. I originally got the dress for my Graduation (which is in November) but I thought I'd give it a whirl before then! It was a bargain in the Next half price sale at £20, it is very comfortable and not too tight. The shoes were also £20 but they were a find in TKMaxx in Sheffield. They're black taffeta and are Rocket Dog shoes, they're only 3 1/2 inch heels and so are easy to walk in and very comfortable. I would normally get blisters from new shoes but I didn't with these.

Hope you like it!

Felt tip eyeliner and bright eyeshadows!

For my first proper blog, I thought I'd give a short review of two of my favourite make up products at the moment. These are Collection 2000 EXTREME 24 hr felt tip liner and Famous Trio Eyeshadow in Rain Forest.
The liner can be found in both Superdrug and Boots (and other places around the UK), the Famous eyeshadow palette however, I have only seen in a large Superdrug (Meadowhall, Sheffield) and so I would need to look into where else you can find this range. (Please leave a comment in the box if you are interested).

I will start with the Collection 2000 EXTREME 24 hr felt tip liner. I first stumbled upon this whilst I was in Superdrug looking for new eyeshadow palettes and thought, "Oooh, I need more liquid liner". I have found in the past that liquid liners that are too runny tend to irritate my eyes and also smudge everywhere. So for £2.99 I thought that I would try the new felt liner. It comes in different colours; your staple black, a deep plum/purple, a dark blue and teal. I bought the black, but my best friend bought the purple and blue and likes them too.
So, I got the eyeliner home and decided to try it out straight away. It is so easy to use compared to the normal liquid eyeliner and isn't runny at all! Best thing about it, no smudging.
You can see below, the liner on my hand in different thicknesses and on my eye. Excuse the photo as I did my makeup really fast this morning as I'm not well and was off to the hairdressers!

As you can see, the packaging is quite nice also, and isn't much bigger than a Kohl pencil liner. All in all, I think that it is well worth the £2.99. Also, so far it has lasted a month with nearly everyday use and no signs of drying up yet.

The second product is the Famous, Rain Forest trio eyeshadow palette. I saw this in Meadowhall, Sheffield in Superdrug and fancied a change in colour shadows. As my eyes are hazel, I thought I would try out some greens and a purple. The palettes do come in different colours too.
On trying on, the colours are very very pigmented and do not take much to produce a very vivid colour. They are also very creamy. I love the feel of them, but it does take some applying. I tend to put a base on first then use the sponge applicator provided, making sure I get rid of excess. I then use my make up brushes to apply and blend. I am unsure of the price but I believe it was around £5-7.

I hope that this short review has been helpful! If you have any questions at all, please feel free to post in the comments box below!

New to all of this!

Hey everyone,

So, I have friends who write blogs and seem to enjoy it and recently I have been getting into fashion, make up & the like and thought, why not spend my spare time blogging!

A little bit about myself. I am a 22 year old (nearly) graduate from Sheffield Hallam University in England. I studied BSc (hons) Biomedical Sciences and managed to gain a 2:1 classification which I am thrilled about! In my quest for a job, I find myself with a lot of free time & have started to spend time looking in shops for bargins and also trying to find the perfect make up to suit my complexion. This is why I thought I would start a blog!

I have very annoying combination skin, which is very difficult to find make up for. On top of this I am fair skinned and have hazel eyes. I can never find many blogs on which the blogger is fair skinned with dry/normal skin, redness around the nose and brunette hair & so I thought I'd share my trials & errors with others!

Also, I am a glasses wearer and have an eclectic taste in clothing & I always look for a bargin. I also fancied sharing this.

So, I hope that you enjoy the blog!
