Boots Botanics BB Cream, Radiant Youth. Review.

So, for the last few months, I have been searching for a good, lighter foundation or tinted moisturiser to replace my usual foundation for the summer!

It has been way harder than it seems!! For a start I have very fair skin and so most BB creams, tinted moisturiser and even CC creams come out too dark or orange on my skin. Combine that with the fact that the skin on my nose is very dry/flaky but the rest of my skin is normal and you have a very difficult task.

About BB creams... The "BB" tends to stand for Blemish Balm or Beauty Balm and appeared in the UK after being popular within Asia.

After my months of searching and trying out different BB creams, tinted moisturisers and CC creams, I finally came across Boots Botanics BB Cream, Radiant Youth. It was around £8, so I thought I'd pick one up to give it a go.

It comes in a white tube, with 50ml of product. (Which is more than normal BB creams and CC creams which tend to have 30/40ml of product). I think the packaging is very simple and pretty and it fits in my make up bag easily. It also came in a little box which had the same design as the tube.
Another thing that attracted me to the product, as well as the pretty packaging, was the fact it has SPF 30 within the formula. This is great as the sun is finally starting to come out!!

So, as you can see, I chose the colour "Light". There are 3 shades, "Light", "Medium" and "Dark". (Please excuse the make up on the bottom, I have used it religiously since I bought it!).

The pictures above show how it blends in natural light. As you can see, I'm pale but not deathly white but to start, it looks very dark on my skin. I used my fingers to blend this in but I have also used my Real Techniques foundation brush too. It blends in a lot nicer than a normal foundation and leaves a nice dewy look. If you have oily skin or would prefer a matte look, just brush a bit of powder on over the top. I tend to do this just to set it as when I am hot, it tends to slide a little.

It has quite good staying power. I wore it for 8 hours and only when I was taking it off for bed did I notice it had sunk into my skin a little.

Here is a very bad "selfie" of how the BB cream sits on my face, minus any powder. This photo is in natural light. It looks very natural & covers any blemishes and redness ( I forgot to mention, my nose gets very red where the dry skin is). I think if I was to wear it on a night out, I would probably need to put a little extra concealer on my spot scars but otherwise, it gives a really nice coverage that is breathable and not too heavy!

All in all, I think this is a nice BB cream for lighter skin tones & a must in my make up bag this Summer for when I want to even up my skin tone & hide the horrible red patches & scars from spots!!

OOTD

Hey!

So, this is my first post since disappearing from blogging & it's a very quick outfit of the day!!

I decided to venture into the disco pants trend & bought a pair from Primark for a bargain!! :) They were a little long though (being only 5' 3" this happens a lot) so I took them up using my mums sewing machine! This is a very casual outfit for during the day. If I was to wear them out, I'd team them with a nice top or blouse and a pair of heels!
The top is from Ark, it's super comfy and covers the bits I wanted it to! (I'm so conscious of  having a "camel toe" and "muffin top") and I have a pair of Converse Ct Lite Ox trainers in Maroon on my feet!

Top - Ark, £11.99
Disco Pants - Primark, £16
Converse - Office (last year purchase), roughly £45

Please excuse the curly up-do and the minimal make up! I just wasn't in the mood to straighten my hair or do my make up! I have Botanics Radiant Youth BB Cream on my face in Light (which I will have to do a post about because I've had it a week & I love it!) and some mascara on my lashes, which I think is the GOSH Amazing Length 'n' Build.

Whilst I write this, I'm anxiously waiting for two phone calls from potential recruiters! Nervous doesn't cover how I feel!

Thanks for reading! I shall be back very soon with a review of the Botanics BB cream! :)

To put everyone up-to-date!

Hey!!

So, I know I haven't blogged in a while. I've been super busy job hunting, going to interviews and generally living life. I've given the blog a new look for a new start and hopefully I'll start blogging on a more frequent basis.

I've bought so many little things lately ranging from make up to crop tops. I shall have to sort out some blog posts for all of them! I think my first proper post will be an outfit one as I bought a black crop top and a skater skirt from Topshop & would love to show everyone how I will style them! Think I'll wear them tomorrow into town to meet my best friend.

Sorry for the little ramble there! This is just to keep anyone who reads this up to date! :)

I shall post sooooooon!! :)
